Plans approved to significantly redevelop Wishaw neighbourhood
PLANS to ‘significantly’ redevelop the Wishaw neighbourhood of Gowkthrapple have been approved in principle by North Lanarkshire Council.It will see the build of around 300 homes over four phases, as well as the creation of retail units, additional open space, and improved transport infrastructure in a bid to regenerate the community.The local authority said around 100 of the properties would be new build council homes for rent. They would replace ‘ageing’ flats within the area earmarked for demolition, as part of the council’s re-provisioning programme.
